Recently,  Vladimir Patecki, a corresponding academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences and director of the Crimean Institute of Agricultural Sciences (CIAS), visited the Institute of Vegetables and Flowers (IVF) of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. Yanning Zhai, the deputy director of the IVF, and Xiuxin Zhang, the leader of the Flower Germplasm Resources and Breeding Team and a Scientist in the National Traditional Chinese Medicine Industry System.

 Vladimir Patecki visited the Peony Research Center

The CIAS has a wide reputation in the fields of biology, agriculture and science and technology. They carry out research from basic science to the application of agricultural production. The Department of Essential Oils and Medicinal Plants of CIAS mainly focus on the research of resource collection, breeding, and essential oil extraction and processing technology of medicinal plants.

Accompanied by the Yanning Zhai, Vladimir Patecki visited Peony Research Center. In the Center, Xiuxin Zhang introduced the main scientific achievements, the related products, and the progress of international cooperation. Vladimir Patecki strongly expressed his interests in peony, and believed that CIAS and IVF have similar research directions with complementary resources. Therefore, the two sides can establish cooperative relations. Vladimir Patecki invited the Yanning Zhai and researchers of IVF to visit Russia to celebrate the founding ceremony of CIAS in 2023. Yanning Zhai agreed with this proposal, and will vigorously promote the cooperation between the two sides.
