Recently, a high-level delegation led by Zhang Xingping, Vice President of Peking University’s Institute of Modern Agriculture, and Abid Mahmood, Chief Executive Officer of the Punjab Agricultural Research Council (PARC), Pakistan, conducted a strategic inspection tour at the Shouguang Vegetable Research and Development Center of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS). The visit was coordinated by Tiemin Xu, Leading Party Members' Group of Shouguang Municipal Government and Deputy Director of the CAAS Shouguang R&D Center.
The delegation conducted an in-depth evaluation of center, foucus on its multidimensional achievements in platform development, talent cultivation, and technology commercialization. . The inspection highlighted cutting-edge applications in vegetable tissue culture, molecular breeding, and trait enhancement, while reviewing progress in facility vegetable varieties development , biocontrol products innovation, and sustainable agricultural equipment research and development. In-depth discussions were held on topics including the types and introduction methods of germplasm resources in the vegetable seed bank, their secure preservation, as well as the scientific exploration and utilization of desirable traits.
The inspection delegation extended high praise for the Shouguang R&D Center’s innovative approaches and substantive outcomes in seed research and intellectual property transformation. Recognizing Shougang's agricultural advancement as a repository of practically proven methodologies, the delegation emphasized the necessity for systematic knowledge transfer and multilateral technical dialogues Before concluding the visit, they conveyed a strategic vision for deepening all-dimensional collaboration, proposing joint ventures to amplify global agricultural resilience.
