Brief introduction of Prof. Weng:

Dr. Yiqun Weng is a Professor of the University of Wisconsin Madison and a Research Geneticist of the UDA-ARS Vegetable Crops Research Unit, and Principal Investigator of the Cucumber Improvement Program. Dr. Weng’s research interests include cucumber genetics, genomics and breeding, comparative genomics of cucurbits, cucumber domestication and chromosome evolution, molecular mapping and cloning of genes or QTL for horticulturally important traits. He is a project director or co-project director of multiple federal competitive grants from USDA-NIFA, USDA-SCRI, and NSF. Dr. Weng has authored or coauthors more than 150 referred journal publication including many in the journals of New Phytologist, Plant Journal, Plant Physiology, Plant Cell, Journal of Experimental Botany, Development, Proceedings of Academy of Sciences USDA, and Theoretical and Applied Genetics.
